John Lydon - White Rock Theatre, Hastings - 7th September 2021 - I Could Be Wrong, I Could Be Right Talk Tour

John Lydon has just completed a very long and successful talk tour. Promoting his latest book, I Could Be Wrong, I Could Be Right. He travelled the UK chatting about the book, life and also answered many questions from the audience.

This was the best I've ever seen him. Intelligent, engaging, charismatic and charming. At every venue he gave the fans all the time they wanted with them. He made sure each and everyone of them had as much time with him as possible and he signed shit loads of memorabilia for anyone and everyone and I mean shit loads

Here's a recording of the opening night of the Tour in Hastings, he hit the ground running. This is a wonderful recording and truly shows John at his best

Pollypikpocketz - Lips Can Kill Tour - The Albert, Brighton - 27th November 2019

Last year saw The Lips Can Kill Tour hit the UK - 4 Indie bands touring together. Each night the bands would change the order of who appeared in which order, so all the bands would get a turn as headliners. The tour was great fun and a great success. Lips Can Kill two is planned for October/November 2021 and I strongly recommend you check it out. You'll have a great night out. Obviously in the current climate of Covid 19 and Lockdown in the UK its not definite the tour will go ahead.

Anyway I've been sent a recording of Pollypikpockets set from their gig in Brighton last year. I absolutely love this band.

A vibrant & colourful mixture of style, culture, sex, musical influence & facial hair all puked into one. Catch them now before they become illegal.

The whole band are lovely people, not only do you get an energetic performance when you see them live you can get to chat and have a laugh with them as well, they're all really down to earth and love a beer and chat with the fans.

As far as I'm aware this is the first ever audience audio recording of one of their sets to surface. So this is an Acid Drops Exclusive for you all.

If you like it check them out on

Pete Jones Book Club All Star Rock Combo Band UK LTD - Dublin Castle, London - 5th February 2020

This was a wonderfully unique one off night of fun.

The aim was to promote Pete's autobiography - They Call Me Joyless as well as to promote his solo album Contrivances For the Soul . Pete called in a few friends to help along the way .

To start the evening we had a conversation with Pete, about his life/book, chaired by the wonderfully witty Julie Hamill. Despite his Joyless tag, Pete really is quite a funny chap

We were then treated to some powerfully emotive poetry from the Southdown Laundry Club, making their debut and possibly only ever live performance.

Finally we got the Pete Jones Book Club All Star Rock Combo Band UK LTD.
This was Pete and friends playing some tracks that he has played down the years. The line up was -
Pete Jones, Leigh Heggarty (Ruts DC)  Alan Galaxy (Ex-Department S ) Andy Thompson (The Tuesday Club) Spizzenergi and his guitarist Luca Commencini, Eddie Roxy (Department S)

The venue was absolutely packed and it was truly memorable, although Spizz absolutely destroyed This is Not A Love Song.

Here's the set list - unfortunately I didnt realise there would be an encore so my recording is missing the intro to Poptones.

This was recorded and has been shared with the full consent of Pete Jones - I hope you enjoy it
