PIL - 22nd October 2012- Minnesota Public Radio Session- The Current Studio

Another Acid Drops exclusive, not on any other blog.
Earlier this week PIL recorded their second Radio session of the year.
They were in Minneapolis to play at Mill City Nights, but during the day they popped The Current Studio to record an interview with Mary Lucia & 3 live tracks.
This file has the whole half hour show & interview plus a serperate folder contains just the 3 songs that were played

PIL - 28th September 2012- Later With Jools Holland, TV Centre, London

PUBLIC IMAGE LTD performed live (Tuesday, September, 25) on BBC TWO’s “Later With…Jools Holland,” marking their first appearance on British TV in 20 years.  PUBLIC IMAGE LTD kick off the show’s new season with their new single “Reggie Song”–taken from their critically acclaimed current album THIS IS PiL. They performed 3 more songs on Friday, September 28.

Here's a little something special for you - an Acid Drops exclusive!

As Xfm celebrates 20 years in 2012 Xfm's X-Posure with John Kennedy this week aired Public Image Ltd's first new radio session in over two decades!

John aired the new session this week playing one song each night from Monday to Thursday.  The session was recorded on 19th July 2012

I ripped the tracks each night & have put them together for you all to enjoy!

Various Artists - Tribute LP

Martin Atkins once drummed for Public Image Ltd., he honored his former band by organizing a tribute album.  It comes from his own label and involves a number of artists he has known, respected, and played with throughout the years. There's nothing here that's worth getting worked up about, whether you're a PiL freak or a fan of some of the groups that provide the covers. Like most tributes, it needn't be heard more than once. Flat reproductions (the Winterbrief's energy-starved "Bad Baby"), intriguing interpretations (Irmin Schmidt & Kumo's "Banging the Door" brings a different form of menace), and failed experimentations (Jared Louche's languishing, lumbering "Poptones") are provided in roughly equal numbers.

PIL - 1987 Remixes

Tonight I give you some PIL first intended to be released under the title 'Renovations', then as a planned bonus disc to the 'Happy' album. This was to be a reworking of some PIL classics. The project was scrapped and only two of the songs 'The Suit' & 'Religion' are used as B-sides in 1987. Apparently 'Flowers of Romance', 'Banging the Door' & 'Tie Me to the Length of That' were also recorded, but all remain unreleased. I would love that to happen some day. These tracks are no longer commercially available (track 2 never has been)
