Punk40 - The Damned - 24th November 2016 - The Dome, Brighton

It seem appropriate that my very last posts celebrating 40 Years of Punk, is from the Damned's 40th Anniversary Tour. It was an amazing night, packed out with a crowd that was there for a good time.

We were not disappointed. The night started well with great support from Original Brighton Punk's the Piranhas (or Piranhas 4 as they now call themselves) - I'll post their set a bit later.

Captain Sensible was a great host and Dave Vanian was at the top of his game.

On the night they played the first ever British punk LP - Damned, Damned, Damned as well as a whole host of hits from their extensive back catalogue.

the recording download comes with full CD artwork created by myself.

The Damned, 100 Club Punk Festival, 21st September 1976

When I posted the gigs for the 100 Club Punk Festival (the Sex Pistols, the Clash & Suzi and The Banshees) I got a good response.I have had a couple of emails asking if I had any more - I do. I have 6 songs from The Damned's set on the 2nd night of the festival. It was during this set that someone threw a glass which shattered against a concrete column & blinded a lady in 1 eye. It's alleged that Sid Vicious threw the glass & this incident led to the Sex Pistols being banned from the 100 Club, even though they weren't there on the night.
Anyway here's the Damned for you. I know it's a Sex Pistols etc site but this has been requested & it fits in nicely (if not loosely ie Sid throwing a glass during this set). It's a good quality audience recording.
    Tracks:
    01 intro
    02 One Of The Two
    03 New Rose
    04 Alone
    05 Help
    06 Fan Club
