Punk40, Sex Pistols - 5th September 1976, Chalet du Lac, Paris France

Well here it is - Sex Pistols gold - Chalet du Lac 1976. Everyone knew both nights were recorded but for 40 years only a very few select people have been able listen to the recording,

Hopefully the recording of the first night will be shared soon. But for now this recording will have to  titillate your ears.

I have created CD artwork to go with the recording which is available in the download for you all.

set list

 Anarchy in the UK
 I Wanna Be Me
 Seventeen
 New York
Don't Give Me No Lip
Stepping Stone
Satellite
 Sub-Mission
 Liar
 No Feelings
Substitute
Pretty Vacant
Problems
 No Fun

T

Please note I believe this to be a mislabeled gig and I actually think its the second night in Paris from 5th September.

On release it has been billed as the first night.

My reasoning is this - from the God save the Sex Pistols site, in an interview with someone who was at both gigs it has been stated that the second gig was shorter in length due to the band having to catch a plane.
The set list posted on the GSTSP site states that Flowers was played at the start and a 2 track encore (Did You No Wrong and Anarchy) at the end. Yet all 3 of these tracks are missing from this recording. The supplier of this recording states it is the complete gig (and there's no reason to doubt that claim) - therefore logically this must be the shorter second gig on the 5th.

If anyone can categorically clear this up, without any doubt please get in touch.

Whatever the truth is this is still a fantastic recording - very, very enjoyable to listen to.

A massive thank you must go to Partners in Crime from France, for sharing this with all of us - it's very much welcomed and appreciated.

Here's a legendary night in Sex Pistols gig history- widely reported at the time in the music press- It was the night when the band jumped off the stage & got involved in a bit of a punch up with some of the audience. It's a decent quality recording as well, very enjoyable to listen to.

Sex Pistols - El Paradise Strip Club, Brewer Street, London 4th April 1976

Today in the UK is April Fools Day. A day on which people can play light hearted tricks on each other to make people look foolish & it's accepted by all in the spirtit of fun. I'm not sure if other countries outside the UK partake in this silliness???
In a twisted way that is why I'm posting this bootleg today. This boot has been doing the rounds for years on tape, vinyl & CD-R. Billed as live at the El Paradise Strip Club- IT'S A FAKE!
Really its a poor quality recording of the Nashville Rooms gig from later this month.
But I thought I would post it anyway for you completists out there.
Tracks:
01 Stepping Stone
02 No Feelings
03 No Fun
04 Substitute
05 Problems

Sex Pistols - 6th December 1976, Leeds Polytechnic, Yorkshire

On this day in history the Sex Pistols played the 1st night of the Anarchy Tour. It wasnt meant to be the 1st night. The Tour was falling to pieces before it even started. Their now infamous Bill Grundy live interview had shocked a nation. Promoters were running scared of the media/public backlash and pulling out of their commitments. Out of 22 proposed dates only half a dozen took place. 3 recordings from the tour exist. Here's the first one.
For a 1976 bootleg I think this is quite a decent recording as things go.
Tracks:
00 interview with Leeds Poly representative
01 Anarchy In The UK
02 I Wanna Be Me
03 Seventeen
04 Stepping Stone
05 No Future
06 Substitute

08 Liar
09 Pretty Vacant

Sex Pistols - 6th July 1976, 100 Club, London

Funnily enough, this date in Sex Pistols history has produced 2 recordings which are absolutely awful quality, real shite & definately for completists only. They are the 2 worst recordings in my collection by far. I have nearly 200 recordings: 3 are awful only worth having to make up the collection, about a 20 or so are poor but listenable & 30 or so which are acceptable- that still leaves around 140 that are worth having even if you're not a mad, mad fan.
1st up is a 100 Club audience recording, the earliest I have. The file contains the complete gig which is absolute awful quality, you can hardly hear it. Sounds like it was recorded a mile away from the gig & under water- but also in the file are the last 5 songs from the same gig but extremely good quality, so someone has better out there & is just not sharing. Here's the set list:

01. I Wanna Be Me/No Lip
02. Seventeen (I'm A Lazy Sod)
03. Steppin' Stone
04. New York (Pills)
05. Watcha Gonna Do About It?
06. Submission
07. Satellite
08. No Fun
09. Substitute
10. Pretty Vacant
11. Problems
12. No Fun (cut)

from separate source:
1. No Fun
2. Substitute
3. Pretty Vacant
4. Problems
5. Did You No Wrong
