Since I started blogging audience recordings 10-11 years ago (this particular blog 9 years ago) - I have been lucky enough to share with you some amazing recordings, some in great quality, some rare and hard to find and I've even managed to track down a fair few that no one knew previously existed.
Tonight I can give you the Holy Grail of sought after recordings. everyone assumed it had been recorded, but no one had a copy of even had heard of a copy...........well in the last couple of days it has finally surfaced.
PIL's first ever UK gig on Christmas Day 1978 - and it's an absolute corker . This is taken from the Master recording - I'm so happy to be able to listen to this & share it with you all.
Very appropriate that this has surfaced in Anniversary Year .
Much Thanks & gratitude goes to 6666trac for making this available
This comes with artwork that I created.

PIL - Theatre 140, Brussels, Belgium - 20th December 1978
So here we are 2018 - the 40th Anniversary of Public Image Ltd's creation.
After the demise of the Sex Pistols the World waited for Johnny Rotten's next project. He gave us P.I.L.
It's not been an easy journey. Many, many members have come and gone. Record companies have been less than supportive and for a while PIL disappeared.
Fast forward to 2018 - PIL are still here. Reappearing in 2009 - a line up that is still working together 9 years later ( a miracle for PIL). Touring, making new records - a fans dream come true.
So this year I have decided to share every last PIL audience recording I own (unless there's an official release out there) - Some are not widely circulated, some are better quality or more complete versions that what has been available - a couple are absolute bloody awful quality - not worth listening to (these will be shared for the completest nutters out there like myself) - there just maybe an Acid Drops exclusive among them. So keep looking in.
Tonight I give you a copy of PIL's first ever gig, easily available, but not on this blog, so here it is.

PIL - 26th December 1978 - Rainbow Theatre, London
This is not a particularly hard gig to find out there on tinternet. It has been widely circulated in various formats and quality for many, many years.
This version that I offer you is a vinyl rip from the famous Nubes bootleg lp.
This version has been ripped and made available for sharing by a chap who goes by the name of zootype, so I send my Thanks to him for his work.
