Sid Vicious - 25th December 1977, Ivanhoes, Huddersfield

Here's a little something extra for you.

At the Ivanhoes gig Sid, Steve & Paul played a couple of songs together for the audience while Johnny was off larking around with the kids.
I only have 1 of the songs, so here it is. This song would go on to feature a lot in Sid's short solo career.

Todays gig is from the 1977 Never Mind The Bans Tour. This version is one of the better quality ones doing the rounds. I've had the recording a while but in the last week Marky Dread has worked his usual magic & sent me an 'upgrade'. Its essientially the same recording that I already had but he has created his own original artwork for me to share with you.
I'm sure you'll agree the artwork is excellent - above is an example of what you will find when you download the file.

Sex Pistols - 6th December 1976, Leeds Polytechnic, Yorkshire

On this day in history the Sex Pistols played the 1st night of the Anarchy Tour. It wasnt meant to be the 1st night. The Tour was falling to pieces before it even started. Their now infamous Bill Grundy live interview had shocked a nation. Promoters were running scared of the media/public backlash and pulling out of their commitments. Out of 22 proposed dates only half a dozen took place. 3 recordings from the tour exist. Here's the first one.
For a 1976 bootleg I think this is quite a decent recording as things go.

On this day in 1983 PIL played the Hammersmith Palais. The 'new' band had settled into their roles quite nicely by now & were finally putting in some really good sounding performances. Rich Kids - 3rd December 1977, Gibus Club, Paris, France

Here's an average sounding audience recording. It seems cut in places, but that just could be editing out crowd noise by the original taper back in the day. Glen Matlock Live Acoustic Collection

I've only just started December's offerings & already I'm giving you a little something special. I literally got this a few hours ago. I absolutely love it & I'm sure you all will.
Many of you will know Marky Dread's name. He's had his own blogs, shared things with us & he occasionaly cleans up recordings for me as well.
This time he's surpassed himself. He's got together a collection of Glen Matlock acoustic recordings from various sources in 2009 & 2010 & put them in one unique collection for me to share with you.
I've not heard any of these versions before & I've not seen them anyway else to download either.
Check out his hard work.

Chiefs Of Relief, Janice Long, BBC Radio 1 Session, December 1985

Here's a real rarity. One of Paul Cooks post Pistols projects for you all.
There's no way i can butter this one up. It's definately a Lo- Fi recording. A tape rip of a radio show recorded back in 1985- so the quality is definately questionable. The trouble is there is hardly any Chiefs Of Relief stuff out there. I've heard of a bloke that's meant to have 2 bootleg gigs of theirs but he doesnt answer his emails.

PIL - 10th November 1989, Crawford Hall, UC Irvine, Ca, USA

This one is not the easiest to find & is often mislabelled as Bren Arts Centre UC Irvine from 19th Nov 89. BUT THIS IS THE CORRECT DATE & VENUE & has been validated by a newpaper article (gig review) from the LA Times. There is NO evidence the Bren Arts Centre gig ever took place.
This really is a great sounding recording & gig. I know you will really enjoy this one.

Sex Pistols - 9th November 2007, Brixton Academy, London

This is the 2nd night of the 'Holidays' mini tour from Brixton. I was at this one. I thought the band were musically tight & they delivered an excellent performance.I ended up with bruised ribs from this one as I was down the front against the crash barriers. This was definately a pogo night as I could only jump up & down on the spot frantically due to the crush of the crowd. This is another decent sounding recording- I got this one from an old download site which no longer runs (punkrock bootlegs)- I have no idea where I got the cover from.

01 Intro

Sex Pistols - 26th June 1996, Sjohistoriska Museet, Stockholm, Sweden - Soundcheck

Tonight I thought I would slip in a little extra one for you. This is the 3 song soundcheck from the Stockholm gig on 26th June 1996. I've been sent this twice recently. Firstly by Tich from the Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The Artwork site & secondly by an old acquaintance from another site, Pedder. This is Pedder's version, which came with the above poster.
Tracks:
01 No Lip
02 Pretty Vacant
03 Submission

Even though 2 different people have sent it to me I had been looking for this all over the net for quite some time. So I have to class it as a quite 'hard to get' recording. I would like to point out that both Tich & Pedder sent this to me for nothing (in other words it wasnt part of a trade- they just sent it for the site). Thank you both.

PIL - 5th November 1983, Reading University, Berkshire, England

Tonight, England celebrates a day in history when a bloke called Guy Fawkes & a few mates tried to blow up the houses of Parliament. Sadly he failed, who knows how England would have changed if he had succeeded. So from one anarchist to another (ok ok I know that was the most tenuous of links)
On this night PIL played Reading University in 1983.

01 Public Image
02 Annalisa
03 Low LIfe
04 Religion
05 Memories
06 Solitaire

PIL - 2nd November 1983, Top Rank Suite, Brighton

Here we go then, November is here. I love this recording, I was at the gig & it was the first time I saw PIL. Lydon had the arse that night, he really didnt seem to be into the gig at all. As soon as he come on stage he got showered in gob. 1977 didnt seem that long ago. The crowd were restless & volatile, everyone was here to see PIL but the attitude was definately late 1970's punk. Lydon wound the crowd up & the crowd lapped it up. I thought it was a great night. I had green hair & I went down with my older cousin & some school mates. We were down the front pogoing & slamdancing with the best of them. A fight broke out during Anarchy In The UK & I had my first experience of pepper spray in the face. Excellent! So here it is -the opening night of PIL's first major UK Tour.
